(Edit: should add I spent 35+ points, which I've never done, to hit 100) In SP the Construction skill lvl gates feel a bit high. (!!) I installed a mod called "better spears" that buffs the damage of the primary and power attack to make it more competitive late game with the other melee options and it certainly makes it more viable. Likewise the character would also make the grunting sound to throw it but the spear does not go flying. When holding down the throw I notice a good amount of times the spear would dissapear while the green bar charges only to reappear when the character to throws it. Secondly, I noticed several times when I thrown my weapon the spear would go through the zombie despite hit the zombie with not damage done, similar to bug with arrows. A knife or wrench can make a good fallback melee in a pinch but still. Wasting time chasing the pixel accurate hit box just allows zombies to hit me while I'm without my primary weapon. I say increase the hit box so that it easier to grab. When the spear is on the ground but not stuck in a block it often moves a lot making it very finicky to pick up. Also when zombie perform their dying animations I cant pick up the spear until its finished, which is also bothersome. I would change it that the spear will be picked up first followed by the arrows. When you have arrows and the spear stuck in a zombie the player will retrieve the arrows first. I'm doing a perception and agility hybrid build on warrior difficulty with spears for my primary melee and I just noticed several things. Considering how dark it is I was happy to oblige. They have some of the nicest perks when the right books are found, knuckles too.Īnd many other things I meant to say that I lost my train of thought on since the missus asked me to take the garbage out. They, unlike arrows, dont break/disappear when you miss and thus can quickly be found and picked backed up after missing just dont miss badly which comes with practice. Their attack speed and animation makes them the easiest to get head shots with. Spears are super easy to make and thus there is nothing wrong with making several for your belt/backpack. If ever there was a git gud reason for a reply it would be this.
